2015 BMW X6 M Spotted in Barcelona

Set to be revealed in Moscow, next month, the new BMW F86 X6 M was spotted testing on public roads in Barcelona, Spain.

 

The upcoming model was spotted wearing heavy camouflage this time, focused on the areas that will most likely be changed drastically compared to the standard models’ looks.

 

The front fascia was all but covered up as well as the side skirts, side mirrors and rear quarter. Over here, the changes will be quite impressive both to make the car look more aggressive and to give it an aerodynamic edge.

 

Up front we expect larger air intakes to the sides but the same overall shape that has a hidden X in it. The headlights won’t be different but the kidney grilles will, probably going for the same double-bar look as on the F10 M5.

 

The mirrors will be looking exactly like on the new M3 and M4, with a different size, of course, while around the back expect four tailpipes and big central air diffuser.

 

Under the bonnet (that might be the same) you’ll find the upgraded version of the S63 engine we’ve seen on the F10 M5, fitted with Valvetronic and Vanos for lower fuel consumption. The power will also go up but only by around 5 HP, while torque will remain the same at 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque.

 

In performance terms the biggest gain will come from the 7-speed DCT gearbox that will be introduced for the first time on the X6 M that used to be fitted with a 6-speed classic auto. Combined with weight reduction and the xDrive system (a first for BMW), the car will probably reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4.5 seconds.
