Skoda Octavia Scout detailed, goes on sale from August
Skoda has released additional details about the Octavia Scout, which was officially presented during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Going on sale from next month, the rugged-looking Scout version is based on the Octavia Combi and features distinctive design with a black plastic moulding for the front and the rear bumpers and the side skirts. The lower front panel has a silver off-road attachment, while the radiator grille bears the Scout badge. Aluminium-effect roof railings are available as an option and the rough-road package with additional underbody protection is a standard feature.
The ground clearance of the new Octavia Scout has been raised to 171 mm and is now 31 mm higher than the standard Octavia. 17-inch alloy wheels with 220/50 R17 tyres are fitted as standard.
Next is the interior, which is available in either a classic black or a black/brown color combination. The vehicle is as spacious as the Octavia Combi with a boot volume of 610 liters in normal seats configuration and 1,740 liters with the rear seats down.
The Scout modification can be ordered with a 2.0 TDI 184 PS (135 kW) diesel unit in combination with an automatic six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG) and an all-wheel drive. This is the first time this engine is used in this configuration in a Skoda model. The combined fuel consumption is rated at 5.1 liters/100 km with CO2 emissions of 134 g/km.
A 2.0 TDI with 150 PS (110 kW) will also be available. This engine comes exclusively with a manual six-speed gearbox with average fuel consumption of 5.1 liters/100 km and a CO2 emission value of 129 g/km.
The Octavia Scout will be offered with only one petrol unit - the 1.8 TSI that produces 180 PS (132 kW). Fitted with a 6-speed automatic DSG gearbox, this power plant consumes 6.9 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 158 g/km.
