2015 Ford Expedition – new details and pictures available

Ford has released more details and new pictures of the facelifted Ford Expedition, which was officially unveiled in February.

 

The updated vehicle comes with a revised grille and new headlights, as well as chrome exhaust tips, restyled wheels, a redesigned tailgate and optional LED fog lights.

 

Going on sale in the USA before the end of the year, the refreshed SUV will be offered in a Platinum range-topping version with special interior features. The options list includes "lush leather that’s soft and smooth to the touch” in red wine color with tuxedo stripe, Ebony or Agate Gray accents, ambient LED lighting, Intelligent Access with a push-button ignition, a 10-speaker Sony audio system and a MyFord Touch infotainment system.

 

The 2015 Expedition is powered exclusively by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 365 PS (268 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque that’s replacing the old 5.4-liter V8 with 310 PS (228 kW) and 494 Nm (365 lb-ft) of torque. The new unit is mated to a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Thanks to this set, the model has a towing rating of up to 4,173 kg (9,200 pounds), "when properly equipped".

There’s no official information about the fuel consumption numbers, but Ford says this will be the most "fuel-efficient Expedition ever".
