2016 Mercedes E63 AMG mule spied on the Nurburgring

Our spies have snapped the first pictures of what is believed to be a chassis testing mule for the 2016 Mercedes E63 AMG.

 

Caught wearing a modified C-Class body, the 2016 E63 AMG will ride on a longer and wider version of the MRA platform. The model should also feature the usual AMG styling cues including an aggressive front bumper and a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.

 

Power will likely be provided by the company's new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) in the AMG GT but this is significantly less than the current model's twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 that cranks out 557 PS (410 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque. This suggests the engine could be upgraded to match or exceed its predecessor but nothing is official as of yet.
