Volkswagen Golf Variant GTD spied virtually undisguised

The Volkswagen Golf Variant family is about to grow as our spies have snapped pictures of the upcoming GTD wagon.

 

Caught leaving a parking lot, the Golf Variant GTD follows in the footsteps of the hatchback as it adopts an aggressive body kit, honeycomb grille inserts and tinted headlights. The model also has a sport-tuned suspension and five-spoke alloy wheels.

 

Our spies only got one interior photo but the GTD will likely be equipped with sport seats, a sport steering wheel and stainless steel pedals.

 

Power will be provided by a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder engine that produces 184 PS (135 kW) and 390 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission, so expect the wagon variant to be a few ticks slower.
