路虎设计主管麦戈文(Gerry McGovern)近日在巴黎车展透露了车型未来车型的一些细节。麦戈文表示，发现系列目前只有两款车，未来将继续扩大。目前的神行者2将于明年被发现运动版所替代，而更大的发现车型则将于2016年发布。而捷豹路虎全球运营总监高斯（Andy Goss）表示，路虎还将推出定位在最近发布的发现运动版之下的第三款车型。不过，该车不会在近期发布，很有可能最早也会在2020年底推出。麦戈文还表示，继揽胜，揽胜运动版和揽胜极光之后，路虎计划推出揽胜家族的第四款车型。该车不是任何一款现行版的衍生车型，也不是七座车型或类似宝马X4和X6的类似轿跑车的跨界车。

 

Land Rover hints at smaller Discovery and fourth Range Rover

Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern revealed during the Paris Motor Show some details regarding the company's future.

 

In an interview with Australian journalists at the Paris Motor Show, Gerry McGovern said the Discovery family will grow beyond the current two members. We remind you at the moment the range includes the Freelander 2 (to be replaced in 2015 by Discovery Sport) and the bigger Discovery which is bound to receive a new generation in 2016.

 

The identity of the third Discovery-labelled model is not known at this point but Jaguar Land Rover global operations directory Andy Goss responded with "quite possibly" when asked about the potential of a smaller model to slot beneath the recently unveiled Discovery Sport. However, don't expect an official launch in the near future as the model will probably be introduced at the end of the decade, at the earliest.

 

Gerry McGovern has also confirmed plans for a fourth distinct Range Rover member to sit alongside the Evoque, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover. It won't be a derivative of an existing model and we know from McGovern that it's not going to be a seven-seater or a coupe-ish model like the BMW X4 & X6 duo.
