The 2017 MINI Countryman has spied while making a pit stop at a gas station in Scandinavia.

 

While the model is heavily camouflage, we can see it will have an evolutionary front fascia with a larger grille. Moving further back, there's door-mounted mirrors, extended fender flares and a sloping roof that echoes its predecessor. The crossover is also larger than its predecessor so expect a more accommodating cabin with additional cargo capacity.

 

Engine options will carryover from the Cooper, so expect a variety of petrol and diesel options including a 1.5-liter three-cylinder with 134 bhp (100 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque as well as a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 189 bhp (141 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. There should also be a range-topping John Cooper Works (JCW) variant with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 228 bhp (170 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.
