These latest 2016 Mercedes E-Class spy photos come to reconfirm the new mid-size sedan will blend cues from the C and S.

 

These latest pics show a thinly disguised near-production prototype caught on camera both inside and out mixing bits and pieces from its brothers.

While the exterior can be best described as an elongated C-Class, the interior borrows the dual digital screens from the S-Class and chances are these have the same 12.3-inch diagonal. The four central air vents are also sourced from its bigger sibling, while most of the other components are taken from the C.

 

Many were hoping for a bit of diversity from Mercedes-Benz, but overall the new E-Class is shaping up to be another very solid choice in the mid-size premium segment. You probably know that it’s actually going to be based on the C-Class as it will use its MRA platform, but stretched a bit to match the increased footprint.

 

The standard sedan will show its production face in Detroit next month, but we’re hoping to see it online in the coming weeks. The wagon will likely be introduced in Geneva in March and there are some rumors indicating it will spawn a rugged version to take on Audi’s A6 allroad.
