Renault Megane Estate spied, could be introduced later this year

The Renault Megane lineup is growing literary and figuratively as the upcoming Megane Estate has been spied undergoing cold weather testing.

 

Despite being dressed in heavy camouflage, we know the model will have will follow in the footsteps of the hatchback that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall. As a result, we can expect the wagon to have a distinctive headlights and a slender grille with a prominent Renault badge.

 

Bigger changes occur aft of the A-pillar as the wagon has longer rear doors and a more traditional beltline. The car also has roof rails, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, and LED taillights.

 

The interior will echo the standard model so we can expect a digital instrument cluster and an 8.7-inch R-Link 2 infotainment system with a portrait orientation. The model will also have a more accommodating cabin with additional luggage space thanks to its slightly longer wheelbase.

 

Engine options will carryover from the hatchback and include an assortment of familiar petrol and diesel options. The petrols will have outputs ranging from 100-205 horsepower, while the diesels should produce between 90-130 hp.

 

The Renault Megane Estate is expected to be introduced later this year as a 2017 model.
