VW to preview small crossover in Geneva with T-Cross concept?
Volkswagen will allegedly introduce a T-Cross concept early March at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The crossover hype is far from over which is why VW is preparing two brand new high-riding models. The first of the bunch will be a production variant of the T-Roc pictured above which will be based on the Golf and is set to arrive in 2017. Slotting underneath the T-Roc will be a Polo-based crossover programmed to go on sale in 2018, following a preview this March in Geneva.

Both crossovers will ride on the flexible MQB platform and will share some of the design, including the full-width front grille, wheel arches, and the window line. While the T-Cross will be approximately 157.4 inches (four meters) long, the T-Roc is going to have an overall length of around (165.3 inches) 4.2 meters.

There were also talks about an even smaller Brazil-built crossover as previewed by the Taigun concept back in 2012 at the Sao Paulo Motor Show. The 3800-mm long model was supposed to go on sale later this year, but VW has apparently decided to sack the project. The reasoning behind this decision has to do with the financial instability in South American countries which would have been the model’s target markets.

At the other end of the SUV specter, a three-row model will be introduced later this year and is going to be manufactured at VW’s Chattanooga factory in United States. It was previewed by the CrossBlue concept in 2013 and is also going to be assembled in China by one of the company’s local joint ventures.

A three-row Tiguan built in Mexico is also set to join VW's range in select markets (excluding Europe) towards the end of this year. There could also be a coupe version of the regular five-seat Tiguan, but we'll have to wait for a confirmation from the company.
