2017 Chevy Camaro 1LE powers into Chicago

Chevrolet has introduced the 1LE package for the 2017 Camaro at the Chicago Auto Show.

 

Designed to give customers a track-quality car at an affordable price, the entry-level Camaro 1LE features a satin black hood, a front splitter, a revised grille, and a unique three-piece rear spoiler. The package also includes 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires that are backed up by a Brembo braking system.

 

Bigger changes occur underneath the skin as the car has been equipped with a limited-slip differential and a track cooling package that includes oil, differential, and transmission coolers. The car also has a number of FE3 suspension components - including dampers and stabilizer bars - sourced from the Camaro SS.

 

Power is provided by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 335 horsepower. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission with a suede-wrapped shorter-throw shifter.

 

The 1LE package for Camaro SS goes one step further as it includes a magnetic ride control system, a new FE4 suspension, and an electronic limited slip differential. The model also has Recaro front seats, beefier Brembo brakes, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with unique Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.

 

A 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine resides under the hood and produces 455 hp. It is connected exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission.

 

The 2017 Camaro 1LE will go on sale later this year and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
