Infiniti Q50 arrives in Chicago with three turbo engines

The 2016 Infiniti Q50 US Spec is on display at the ongoing Chicago Auto Show where it has brought three turbocharged gasoline engines.

 

Nissan’s premium marque announced the “new advanced engines” for the Q50 a while back and now the turbo trio is being showcased in the Windy City in a variety of show cars. One of them is equipped with the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 208 horsepower (155 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (349 newton meters) of torque available in the Q50 2.0t in both rear- and all-wheel drive flavors.

 

Up next is the newly developed biturbo 3.0-liter V6 which is being billed as the most advanced V6 engine ever made by Infiniti. It replaces the naturally-aspirated 3.7-liter motor and will be offered with 300 hp (224 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque in the 3.0t and with 400 hp (298 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) in the hotter Q50 Red Sport 400. The engine in both cars works with a seven-speed automatic gearbox sending power to either the rear wheels or an AWD system.

 

Buyers can also opt for the more economical Q50 Hybrid which combines a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor to provide a total output of 360 hp (268 kW).
