Complete Alfa Romeo Giulia range detailed in Geneva

Alfa Romeo is finally introducing the complete Giulia lineup at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

 

The Italian manufacturer is finally ready to launch the model and says orders will be taken from April 15 for the countries in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

 

The Geneva show confirms what we’ve already heard – the Giulia will be offered with 2.2-liter diesel engine in versions with 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts) and 180 hp (132 kW). These will be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.

 

The BMW 3 Series rival is also getting a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 200-bar high pressure direct injection system. It provides a peak power of 200 hp (137 kw) at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 244 pound-feet (330 newton meters) at 1,750 rpm. It will be available exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

 

Alfa also highlights some of the innovative technologies on the car, such as the electromechanical system which combines stability control and a traditional servo brake, forward collision warning with autonomous emergency brake and pedestrian detection, and active aero splitter (only for the QV version).

 

The car will be offered to customers in three trim levels, Giulia, Super, and Quadrifoglio. The base model comes nicely equipped with cruise control with speed limiter, 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and Connect 6.5 infotainment system as standard.
