Maserati Levante arrives in Geneva with up to 430 hp

Maserati has officially unveiled the Levante crossover.

 

Billed as the "Maserati of SUVs," the Levante has an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by slender Bi-Xenon headlights and round fog lights. The model also has a rakish windscreen, front fender vents, and muscular rear haunches. Other notable highlights include a sloping roof, “Saetta” badges on the C-pillar, and an assortment of wheels ranging in sizes from 18- to 21-inches.

 

The interior comes nicely equipped with leather seats, aluminum trim, and chrome accents. The model also has an analogue clock, a dual-zone climate control system, and an eight-speaker audio system. Other niceties include a six-way power driver's seat and an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display.

 

An assortment of options will be available including heated / ventilated front seats, a power passenger seat, and an Alcantara headliner. Customers can also order a leather-wrapped dashboard, a sport steering wheel, and a panoramic glass sunroof.

 

The entry-level Levante is powered by a biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 350 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in 6.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 155 mph.

 

Buyers looking for something more powerful can order the Levante S which has a biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 430 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the dash from 0-62 mph takes 5.2 seconds and the top speed increases to 164 mph.

 

At the other end of the spectrum, there's a Levante diesel with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 275 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. It allows the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds before topping out at 143 mph. 

 

All the aforementioned engines are connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which is paired to a standard all-wheel drive system with a torque vectoring function and a limited slip rear differential.
