Alfa Romeo Giulietta shows its new face in Geneva
The first day of the Geneva Motor Show is winding down but that hasn't stopped Alfa Romeo from unveiling the facelifted Giulietta.
Set to go on sale later this year, the facelifted model has a new front fascia and a revised grille with mesh inserts. The car has also been equipped with restyled wheels and revised badging that mimics the Giulia.
Since this is only a minor facelift, the interior largely carries over. However, there's revised trim and upholstery combinations as well as an upgraded Uconnect infotainment system that can connect to Facebook and Twitter - among other things.
Under the hood, a variety of different engines will be available including:
A 1.4-liter TB with 120 horsepower and 158 pound-feet (215 newton meters) of torque
A 1.4 TB MultiAir with 150 hp and 169 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque
A 1.4 TB MultiAir TCT 170 hp and 169 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque
A 1.4-liter TB GPL with 120 hp and 158 lb-ft (215 Nm) of torque
A 1.6 JTDM with 120 hp with 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque
A 2.0 JTDM with outputs of 150 hp and 175 hp
The ranging-topping Giulietta Veloce is distinguished by sportier bumpers, revised side skirts, and special mirror caps. The model also has an upgraded interior with leather / Alcantara sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, faux carbon fiber trim, and red contrast stitching.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.75-liter engine that produces 240 hp and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque - 250 lb-ft (340 Nm) with overboost. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in six seconds before hitting a top speed of 151 mph.
