据外媒报道,凯迪拉克计划推出一款小型后驱轿车以应对奔驰CLA、奥迪A3、宝马1系和2系车。凯迪拉克市场总监Uwe Ellinghaus近日证实，目前车厂正在开发这款车。他表示，凯迪拉克不会遵循德系豪华品牌的理念推出前驱车型，而是采用后驱技术。他说：“未来我们将优先考虑推出后驱甚至四驱车型。”这辆紧凑车型很可能与ATS和CTS同样基于现行的通用Alpha平台，该车将搭载四缸引擎，其中包括2.0升四缸涡轮增压和排量更小，动力不那么强劲的引擎以便能降低价格。而目前凯迪拉克品牌入门级车型搭载的是2.5升四缸自然进气引擎。新车预计将于2016年发布，随后将于年底上市。

 

Cadillac preparing a sub-ATS luxury compact sedan

Cadillac is reportedly preparing a small rear-wheel drive sedan to compete the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA, the Audi A3 and the BMW 1-Series and 2-Series.

 

Speaking to Car and Driver, Cadillac marketing chief Uwe Ellinghaus confirmed such a car is in the works. He commented the brand doesn’t want to follow the German luxury brands by building front-wheel drive models and will rely on a RWD technology.

 

“Our future is rear-wheel drive and, of course, all-wheel drive where appropriate.” Ellinghaus said.

 

The new compact model will likely be based on the current GM Alpha platform that underpins the ATS and the CTS. The sub-ATS vehicle will be powered entirely by four-cylinder engines. The lineup will include a 2.0-liter turbo unit and smaller and less-powerful engines to lower the model's base price. The normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that is Cadillac’s base engine now will likely be dropped.

 

The new luxury sedan probably won’t be introduced until 2016 with sales starting a year later.
