2016 Opel Astra Sports Tourer spied

The Opel Astra lineup is growing literally and figuratively as our spies have snapped new photos of the 2016 Astra Sports Tourer.

 

Based on the redesigned hatchback, the Astra Sports Tourer has a familiar front fascia but adopts a more practical rear end with a tailgate-mounted spoiler and wraparound taillights. The model also has an upward sweeping beltline and integrated roof rails.

 

Engine options will carryover from the hatchback, so expect a variety of options including a 1.6-liter CDTI diesel with 95 PS (70 kW), a 1.0-liter EcoTec three-cylinder with 105 PS (77 kW) and a 1.4-liter EcoTec four-cylinder with 145 PS (107 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque.
