大众在上周发布高尔夫改款车时透露，计划明年发布2014款T-Roc概念车量产版，不过没有透露具体发布时间。现在，大众正式宣布，将于3月日内瓦车展期间发布接近量产版T-Roc概念车，随后将于下半年推出其量产版车型。预计大众将在法兰克福车展期间发布最终量产版，随后将于年底上市。大众CEO 赫伯特-迪斯表示，该车量产版仍将采用“T-Roc”这一名称。虽然概念车采用可拆卸双片车顶，但量产版仍将采用普通固定车顶。这款基于高尔夫的跨界车比第二代途观更小，T-Roc概念车长宽高分别为4178/1831/1501毫米，而途观为4486/1839/1632毫米。至于轴距，仍将采用高尔夫的2640毫米，比途观的2681更短。这款车不仅外观与高尔夫改款车有很多共同之处，内装也大致相同。这意味着可选装全数字仪表群，顶级款提供集成9.2英寸触控显示屏的信息娱乐系统并支持手势操控。至于动力系统，包括新的1.5升TSI引擎，功率96千瓦/130马力，扭矩200牛米和110千瓦/150马力，扭矩250牛米。另一款T-Roc GTI版本搭载一台2.0升涡轮增压引擎，功率有230马力和245马力。该车可提供四驱版本，未来还将增加插电混动版（T-Roc GTE）和纯电动版（e-T-Roc）。
Near-production VW Golf-based SUV heading to Geneva
During the Golf facelift’s reveal last week,Volkswagen disclosed plans to introduce a production version of the 2014 T-Roc concept sometime in 2017, without revealing an exact date. Now, officials from Wolfsburg have announced a near-production concept will be exhibited in March at the Geneva Motor Show, prior to a reveal of the road-going crossover later in second part the year. Chances are the T-Roc will debut as a production model in September on its home turf at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with sales to kick off before the year’s end.
VW through the voice of its boss Herbert Diess has confirmed the compact crossover will retain the concept’s “T-Roc”. While the concept featured a two-piece removable top stored in the trunk, the production version will have a conventional fixed roof.
It’s basically going to be a Golf SUV smaller than the second-generation Tiguan. For the sake of comparison, the aforementioned 2014 T-Roc concept was 164.4 inches (4178 mm) long, (1831 mm) wide, and 59 inches (1501 mm) tall, while the latest standard Tiguan is 176 inches (4486 mm) long, 72 inches (1839 mm) wide, and 64 inches (1632 mm) high. As far as the wheelbase is concerned, it should be close to the Golf’s 104 inches (2640mm), so shorter than the Tiguan’s 105.5 inches (2681 mm).
Not only will the exterior design have a lot in common with the facelifted Golf, but also the interior cabin will likely be largely carried over. That means an optional all-digital instrument cluster is going to be available alongside a top-spec infotainment system featuring a 9.2-inch touchscreen and gesture control support.
It’s going to be the same story with the engines, including the new 1.5 TSI bound to replace the existing 1.4 TSI and set to be offered with 130 hp (96 kW) and 147 lb-ft (200 Nm) as well as with 150 hp (110 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm). There are even talks of a spicy T-Roc GTI with the Golf GTI’s turbocharged 2.0-liter in 230 hp and 245 hp flavors. Four-wheel drive versions are also on the agenda, as are plug-in hybrid (T-Roc GTE) and pure electric (e-T-Roc) derivatives.
