Chevrolet announced today its fastest production Corvette yet, the 2019 ZR1. Its supercharged LT5 V8 delivers a whopping 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful Corvette — and the most powerful vehicle, period — ever to emerge from a Chevy factory.
A new intercooler and supercharger system, along with the Corvette's dual-fuel-injection system help distinguish the 2019 ZR1 from the Z06 and previous-generation ZR1. The package also comes with a redesigned nose, a hood opening to channel air to the intercooler, and no less than 13 heat exchangers.
To aerodynamic setups are offered. The standard Low Wing package delivers a higher top speed, a claimed 210 miles per hour . The optional High Wing package has a two-way adjustable spoiler that offers 950 pounds of downforce and delivers the fastest lap times.
Chevy says the Corvette ZR1 will go on sale next spring, without revealing how much it's going to cost. Expect to pay considerably more than the Z06’s starting price of $79,495 MSRP.
