Geneva LIVE: Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder

Lamborghini's Huracán Performante Spyder has debuted in Geneva, carrying over the hardtop Performante's innovations to the drop-top variant.

 

The latest Performante sheds 77 pounds compared to the standard Spyder build. Engineers developed forged composite to achieve the savings. The material can be formed into complex geometric shapes including the front and rear spoiler, engine hood, rear bumper and aerodynamic diffuser.

 

Both the hardtop and convertible benefit from Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva, an active aerodynamics system that shifts from high downforce in corners to low drag on straightaways.

 

With 640 horsepower on tap, the Performante Spyder can launch to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds, 124 mph in 9.3 seconds and eventually match the hardtop's 202-mph top speed.

 

The first US-bound examples will begin arriving in showrooms by summer 2018, with prices starting at $308,859.
